Artist Profile
Adrianna Kinal is a professional mixed-media portrait artist based in Los Angeles. She earned her Fashion Design degree from FIDM and worked for 15 years in the apparel industry before switching to an art career. Her fashion experience influences her portraits, where she employs processes unique to the apparel industry. These include hand embroideries, screen printing, appliqués, and beading.
Adrianna licenses her work and collaborates with fashion and jewelry companies on campaigns and special projects.
She also works with individual clients on custom commissions. Her artworks are in private collections in the United States, Canada, the UK, and the United Emirates.
To date, Adrianna Kinal has created over 300 portraits. Her artwork continues to be published and featured in galleries and museums globally.
Artist Statement
“The Beauties” is a self-portrait collection currently being created by artist Adrianna Kinal. Each portrait captures a memory of when she used makeup and fashion to create an identity.
Kinal creates paintings rendered entirely from makeup, including eyeshadow, lipstick, nail polish, and foundation on paper. She’s developed an extensive library of formulas and unique processes that preserve the makeup.
The collection of portraits is a visual autobiography of a multi-faceted woman embracing her ongoing evolution of identity, style, and the transformational power of makeup and fashion.
